October/November Training Starts October 26th.
Yorktown Crew will run fitness/training sessions open to all returning rowers starting on Monday, October 26. You can see the schedule and keep up to date by joining the YHS Crew TeamApp page.
We will run two sessions per week for each varsity squad up through the week of Thanksgiving.
For the first week, the women’s team will practice from 3-4 PM on Monday and 4:45 – 5:45 on Wednesday. The men’s team will practice from 4:30 – 5:30 on Monday and 3:30 – 4:30 on Wednesday. Since we are outside, it’s very weather dependent. Fridays are reserved Fridays as makeup days.
Experienced freshmen will practice with the other returning athletes, at least initially.
One element that will require action on the part of the current team will be gathering the ergometers. All YHS Ergs must be returned between Monday, Oct 19 and Thursday, Oct 22 to the outdoor basketball court by the senior parking lot. Coach Elliott will be available in person from 4:45 – 5:30 PM every afternoon during that time; ergs can also be left by the court between 3:30 and 4:45 if needed.
